Sylvain Durantel (viola)
Sylvain Durantel started the violin with Patrick Chemla. He then studied with Christophe Poiget and Alexandre Brussilovsky. He started the viola in year 2000 with Françoise Gnéri, and continued his studies with Bruno Pasquier at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMP) where he received the best prize, the First Prize with the compliments of the jury, first classed, before being accepted in the post-graduate class. As a chamber musician, he is often invited to different festivals, and has had occasions to play with Sylvia Marcovici, Deigo Pagin, Christian Euler, Sonia Wieder-Atherton, Sarah Iancu, etc. Sylvain Durantel teaches at the Music School of Bar sur Aube (l’École de Musique de Bar sur Aube). He has produced more than 100 radio emissions for RCF, as well as a cycle of 12 conferences. Sylvain Durantel is supported by the Meyer Foundation (Fondation Meyer). In 2006, the Academic Society of Aube (la Société Académique de l’Aube) dedicated him the “Geneviève and Jacque-Dupont Prize” for his musical activities.
